Cirque St. Armands Beachside Resort in Sarasota, Florida, Opens

New boutique lodge Cirque St. Armands Beachside opened its doorways in Sarasota on March 25, with Gulf Coast views, a seafood-focused restaurant, and a flurry of whimsical, circus-inspired touches.

Positioned close to Lido Seaside on Florida’s southwest coast, the 135-room lodge is a part of the Opal Assortment, a bunch of 28 luxurious motels and resorts. Cirque St. Armands Beachside’s artwork deco and circus influences are a nod to the city’s historical past—John Ringling moved the winter headquarters of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus to Sarasota within the late Twenties. Ringside serves dishes like smoked Gulf Coast shrimp and seafood towers towards a backdrop of velvet material, larger-than-life murals depicting trapeze artists and performers, and a striped arch ceiling that recollects a Massive High tent. Halfway, the foyer bar lounge, makes a speciality of artistic cocktails (at check-in, visitors are served a carnival-themed cocktail or mocktail), whereas Ringmaster is a poolside bar with ocean views.
