MANILA, Philippines — Inside Secretary Jonvic Remulla vowed to make sure expelled Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. will “not evade justice no matter his excuses.”
Teves was delivered to the Philippine Normal Hospital on Wednesday for an operation to take away his appendix after initially reporting abdomen pains.
“I’ll make sure that he won’t escape justice and that he won’t escape no matter no matter excuses he might say,” Remulla stated in an interview with reporters in Manila on Wednesday.

“We’ll make sure that he’ll instantly be returned to the place he must be detained,” he confused.
Teves was transferred to a Bureau of Jail Administration and Penology (BJMP) facility in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig Metropolis final June 9.
The BJMP is an connected company of the Division of the Inside and Native Authorities (DILG).
For his half, Teves’ lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio alleged that the BJMP had shortcomings in addressing his shopper’s emergency, claiming it took a number of hours earlier than the expelled Negros Oriental consultant was given medical consideration.
Teves was initially held in custody on the Nationwide Bureau of Investigation’s detention facility on the New Bilibid Jail in Muntinlupa Metropolis, following his deportation from Timor-Leste.
