Norman Santos, one of many members of the Nineties dance group Common Movement Dancers (UMD), has died on the age of 52 as a result of kidney failure.

Santos’ accomplice, Chato Maria, confirmed his demise by means of a press release launched on her Fb web page on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

“It’s with nice unhappiness that I announce the passing of Norman Santos on Feb. 3, 2025, after a chronic struggle towards kidney failure, necessitating dialysis for over 12 years,” she stated.

Chato said that Santos’ wake and viewing will tentatively be held from Feb. 12 to 16 at St. Peter Memorial Chapel in Tabacuhan, Olongapo Metropolis (Del Rosario St).

Santos’ fellow UMD member, actor-dancer Wowie de Guzman, paid tribute to the late dancer through a Fb put up.

“Utol, mahal na mahal ka namin. Hindi man naging maayos ang pagsasama ng grupo sa huli, on the finish of the day magkakapatid tayo,” de Guzman stated. “Wala akong ibang hangad kundi kabutihan nating lahat.”

De Guzman additionally apologized for his shortcomings, saying he would haven’t been the place he’s now if it weren’t for Santos.

Apart from Santos and de Guzman, different UDM members embody Brian Furlow, Gerry Oliva, Miggy Eugenio Tanchanco, Marco McKinley, Jim Salas, James Salas and Gerard Fainsan, who died in 1997.

Among the many group’s iconic performances are their “Dying Inside” dance routine and butterfly dance to “All the time” by Erasures.
