The Euphoria actor responded to somebody on X who criticized him for donning drag within the new video for Carpenter’s “Tears.”
Colman Domingo has no time for the haters.
The Euphoria actor shocked followers when he appeared within the new Sabrina Carpenter music video for “Tears,” which sees him rocking a group of wigs, heels and lingerie whereas doing drag. The video seems to be impressed by Rocky Horror Image Present, with Domingo enjoying a model of Tim Curry’s well-known Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
Whereas followers of Domingo and Carpenter alike confirmed critical love for the clip, during which the pair look like having a blast, Domingo was the topic of some criticism for donning drag within the video.
“Hollywood ain’t s–t. Colman Domingo is a strong actor. He is homosexual as nicely so I figured he’d be extremely backed,” one hater on X started in a submit the actor really responded to. “However nope! Guess he was too manly even for a homosexual man. Needed to put him in drag in Sabrina Carpenter’s video huh? Bulls–t!”
The 55-year-old actor replied to the submit, telling the individual that it is simply “a personality.”
“Like all of the characters I play. Relax brother. Benefit from the video and the enjoyable that it possesses,” Domingo continued. “Dance it out! It ain’t that deep. ‘We’re born bare and all the things else is drag’ Fits, t shirts, attire. All drag.”
That final sentiment appears to be one borrowed from RuPaul, who has popularized the phrase, “We’re all born bare and the remainder is drag” as one among his catchphrases and songs.

When the video was launched final week, Domingo shared photographs and movies from the shoot to Instagram — including, “When @sabrinacarpenter calls, you play. ❤️ #tears #mansbestfriend.”
Carpenter, in the meantime, wrote that the video shoot was “a wild fantasy dream come true,” including that she “couldn’t make this video with out all of the genius expertise concerned 💖🔮🌽🫦🫀”
