Amidst Foo Fighters rumours, Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane can be touring with Chevy Steel

Taylor Hawkins‘ son Shane has been introduced to tour with Chevy Steel – regardless of rumours he could be becoming a member of the Foo Fighters.

Simply days in the past, formers Foos drummer Josh Freese introduced he was fired from the band, saying the band referred to as him to say they determined “to go in a distinct path with their drummer”. No further motive was given.

This led to hypothesis about who may take Freese’s place. Many suggesting Taylor Hawkins’ son might take his late father’s earlier place as their drummer – particularly as he has performed with the Foos on current excursions and at Taylor’s tribute exhibits.

Nonetheless, Shane has revealed on Instagram that he’ll be touring with covers band Chevy Steel as an alternative. The band was based by Taylor, and Shane has performed with the band since he was eleven.

The now 18-year-old added that touring with Chevy Steel was “gunna be a blast”.

It’s nonetheless unknown who can be changing Freese, who joined the Foos as their touring drummer in 2023, following the sudden passing of their drummer Taylor Hawkins in March 2022.

Previous to that, he had performed for Weapons N’ Roses9 Inch NailsParamoreDevo and extra. No matter his firing, Freese wrote that “I loved the previous two years with them, each on and off stage and I help no matter they really feel is finest for the band.”

He added: “In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I’ve by no means been let go from a band, so whereas I’m not offended – I’m shocked and disenchanted.”

In the meantime, the Foo Fighters will play their first present of 2025 on the Singapore F1 Grand Prix.
